An Event Summary of THOT-J-BAP: Book THREE, Bramah’s Discovery
Part One: 2110, Ahmedabad and Paris
Bramah time-travels to Ahmedabad, searching for Amahl the Beggar Boy, tricked and trapped into playing the eternal game of climate chess. Bramah seeks information about her own origins, shrouded in mystery. She is aware of burgeoning demigoddess powers but does not fully understand them. Increasingly, she is finding it hard to live up to her motto, “Let all evil die and the good endure.”
In Ahmedabad, she hears stories about mythical beasts and conjures Abisha the Oracle, who is adamant that Bramah make Amahl’s location a priority over any soul-searching about personal origin stories.
Distracted by the tension between these two goals, Bramah succumbs to the sly influence of another Supernatural, the jolly and quite sneaky Lord Vish-Verge who persuades her to leave Ahmedabad for Paris in search of the fabled White Queen, an antique ivory chess piece reputed to have immense power, including the ability to slow climate change.
Meanwhile Abisha, frustrated by Lord Vish-Verge’s hold on Bramah and disappointed in the locksmith, travels to Baghdad where she locates Amahl deep in the Secret Centre under the control of the criminal underworld boss Al-Rashid. Unexpectedly, she finds common cause with Rafe the one-eyed Guard before being called back to Ahmedabad.
It is in Baghdad that the mythical beast Fanon learns that their companion Gavroche has been blackmailed into helping Lord Vish-Verge in Paris.

Part Two: 2111, Baghdad & Pacifica
The action pivots on discovering what drives Bramah to make tough choices, in order to save Amahl. “Everything happens in Baghdad” the saying goes, and so it is here in this saga. Bramah finds Amahl, aided by Rafe the one-eyed Guard and Fanon the Cat. Together they raise a resistance force, much to Bramah’s misgiving. They escape Al-Rashid, but at a price. Bramah’s Discovery uncovers not only more information about her origins, but also the personal moral cost of idealism when faced with the extremes of a climate-ravaged world.
Coda: Pacifica. Year 2111. Bramah and Amahl sneak aboard a Consortium transport plane, Baghdad to Pacifica, just in time to learn the whereabouts of Sonali, lost at the end of Bramah’s Quest (Book 2).

A Note on Time Travel in THOT J BAP
In the world of THOT J BAP, all action takes place on planet Earth, albeit simultaneously in different time dimensions. Time travel consists of observation only, like watching a hologram or a movie. Time travel is reserved for Certified Travellers, most of whom are on hire to Consortium, usually hunting down Resisters. Bramah is a Certified Traveller and finds ways to subvert the terms of her contract to help others.

Throughout the world of THOT J BAP, we encounter a set of symbols that allude to the game of chess, to bio-contagion and viruses, to bees and to chemistry.
